This week is all about sports...and it begins tonight at the Horizon Awards!
This first class event provides the "World of Sports Business" with an annual recognition forum to celebrate the accomplishments of the thought-leaders and innovators from the $250 billion sports industry. This event is sold out, but catch it LIVE on the web from downtownATL at http://www.thehorizonawards.com/

Being the First Thursday of the month - yep! - it's also Turner's First Thursdays Downtown Arts Walk - a self-guided tour of galleries, historic districts of Downtown and even includs discounts at various discounts at Downtown restaurants! A special highlight this month is the Friends of the Central Atlanta Library (FOCAL)'s membership kickoff featuring "Stand-Up Poetry" with selected readings by Tom Key at - of course - Central Library.

The Georgia World Congress Center features the NBA's Jam Session all weekend long. The Jam Session is interactive basketba
ll theme park that promises over 300,000 square feet of activities that capture the sights, sounds and action of the NBA. Nelly and Ja Rule will join Atlanta's own Jermaine Dupri and Jagged Edge as performers at Club NBA - a live music stage at the 2003 NBA All-Star Jam Session.

On Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, go to Underground Atlanta for one of the largest 3-day celebrations in the city! FUBU and Snoop Dogg have raised the stakes when it comes to All-Star parties – they’re taking over Underground Atlanta for three after-hours parties! Tickets are $50 for General Admission and up to $150 for VIP Package which includes free drink specials and catering by Legendary Events.

Then, after the BIG GAME wrap up the BIG weekend at Mumbo Jumbo for the All Star Closing Party.

The Children's Museum of Atlanta Grand Opening

The museum, located at the intersection of Centennial Olympic Park Drive and
Baker Street, is focused on providing an environment where fun and learning
are synonymous. Upon entering, families are invited to put their
imagination to the test as they participate in critical thinking activities,
such as becoming a gardener, collaborating on building a giant maze or being
the architect of a sand castle. They can pretend to be the next Monet and
paint on the walls, learn to dance, even make their own musical instruments.
With all the different hats children can put on, learning history, social
studies, science, math, geography and cultural arts becomes a fun and
exciting experience that parents will enjoy, too!
The Children's Museum of Atlanta will be open daily from 10 am - 5 pm
Admission is $11 per person, children under the age of two are free
Groups will enjoy a discounted rate and family membership packages.

The Atlanta Wine Show @ The Fox Theatre 1p

The Atlanta Wine Show will feature fine wines from around the world. Attendees can sample these wines and taste delicacies from Atlanta’s finest restaurants. A number of wine seminars and a silent auction benefiting the Starlight Children’s Foundation will be held throughout the event. The organizers of the Atlanta Wine Show are very proud and excited about the show’s charity program. A number of excellent Atlanta Charities will benefit from the show including the Starlight Foundation, The Leukemia Lymphoma Foundation, The Atlanta Community Food Bank and The Ronald Macdonald House. A portion of all online ticket sales will go to these fine organizations. People registering online can select which organization they would like their donation to go to. Ticket prices are $40 online and $50 at the door.
