THUNDERDOME - An assault on your senses @ Loft A5
FRI, APR 12 8:30p

The Stimulator and Mutagen Visuals infuse their visionary talent with slick media, visual textures, temporal possibilities, tactile and aural potential to present an assault on your senses. On Friday, April 12, 2002 Thunderdome will blast audiences and participants with a series of groundbreaking explorations of digital media that includes video, music, and the art of games. Armed with an arsenal of visual ammunition, Brain Bartram (Mutagen) and Franklin Lopez (The Stimulator) will duel alongside their favorite local DJ’s Sharaab, Nav, Hymn, Radioscience and Mind Expansion Technologies.
Thunderdome is an opportunity to become immersed in art that is unfettered, uncensored and unafraid to experiment. This where the cutting edge of multimedia gets sharpened. The ingenious elements of Thunderdome involve the use of music combined with video projections to raise the level of consciousness and awareness of the VJ. At the event informational sheets will be given out as well as a limited supply of CD-Rom’s with VJ software and Internet links.
Thunderdome will also feature the controversial video sculpture “The Masturbation Station” by Shawn Knight, and a demonstration of the complex VJ program NATO by Nathan Jones of Lifeform Project. There will also be vintage home video game consoles such as the Atari 2600, ColecoVision, Intellivision and emulators of popular arcade games.
Thunderdome is more than just a party, it’s an educational project of digital artfare. This event is destined to take the art community by storm, making it one of the most exciting multimedia performances of the year. All in all this night promises to live up to it’s subtitle “An assault on your senses”
Friday, April 12, 8:30 PM to 12:00 AM.
