"Creation" Dinner @ Mumbo Jumbo
FRI, MAY 3 5:30p
Experience Creation at Mumbo Jumbo every first Friday.
Creation is a generous pairing of culinary brilliance, the
citys top DJs, musicians, funky visual and
performance art pieces.
This month's Creation will feature noted winemaker Roman Rolf,
of the Wolffer Estate Winery on Long Island and The Banyan
Trio, primarily a standard jazz group, blending the intoxicating
mixture of smooth vocals, energetic musical rhythms and lush
harmonies into this months featured Creation event.
The Trio promises an evening of musical delight and merges
perfectly into the warm and enveloping atmosphere of Mumbo
Jumbo.
The Banyan Trio offers its audience a foray through the 20th
century, playing such classics as "My Funny Valentine"
and "The Girl From Ipanema." While adding
their own twist to more modern day selections like Sting's
"Fields of Gold". Vocalist Nicole Chillemi
with her unique clear tone and style can transport the listener
to the 40s, and is equally convincing while singing
more contemporary numbers. The Trios presence
will add depth and delight to this months Creation .
Feast and imbibe on this eclectic mélange of visual
stimulation. Chefs selection of Complimentary Hors Doeuvres
will be served throughout the evening in the main lounge.Creation

Project CrossRoads @ St. Lukes Church
SAT, MAY 18 10a
This day has been set up for several reasons:
1. To have a positive impact on the lives of people that are
currently homeless
2. Improve the conditions of the center where homeless people
go for help
3. Increase awareness of the community to the challenges of
homeless people
4. Clean-up downtown Atlanta and increase community involvement
For all of us, eating a hot meal, sleeping in a warm bed,
and receiving mail at our home are routine events we experience
daily. Yet, for the thousands of homeless men, women and children
living in Atlanta, these simple pleasures are luxuries not
often experienced. Have you ever considered how you would
apply for a job if you had no home address?
But CrossRoads NEEDS YOUR HELP! Located in the basement of
St. Lukes Church in downtown Atlanta, the CrossRoads facility
is in disrepair, with paint-chipped walls, torn carpeting
and broken windows. In order to improve the overall appearance
of the facility and create a more inviting environment, the
First Annual "Project CrossRoads Volunteer Day"
has been scheduled for Saturday, May 18th from 10am to 4pm.
If you have a desire to help during any part of the day, and
don't mind getting a little dirty, we need help with painting,
minor repair work, and just cleaning up!

The
7th Annual Downtown Tour of Lofts and Lifestyles - MAY 18-19
The Downtown Tour of Lofts & Lifestyles is a self-guided
tour of approximately 25 of Downtown's most unique residential
properties including lofts, condominiums, live-in workspaces
and apartments. This year's event is much more than a home
tour. Not only will guests get to tour fabulous residences,
they will also have an opportunity to stroll through a European-style
open air market, spend a few hours at the Downtown Neighborhood
Festival and explore the historic Sweet Auburn Curb Market.
Additionally, Loft Tour attendees can sample culinary offerings
prepared by some of downtown Atlanta's most renowned chefs
from Mumbo Jumbo, Morton's of Chicago, City Grill, and Dailey's
