Hello Crew!

Downtown Atlanta is definitely THE place to be this week!!

Due to the heavy downpour last Wednesday, the FINAL Wednesday Wind Down Concert in Centennial Olympic Park will be held THIS Wednesday. Be sure to attend this free concert because you definitely do not want to miss the live music...the entire concert is going to be recorded and sold on CD!

On Thursday, please join us for "First Thursdays", an art lover's dream! Stroll the streets of downtown and tour through some of the fabulous establishments that have art on display. You'll get a chance to see the new pieces that have been released for your viewing pleasure. For more information, check out the official First Thursday website.

Friday, the favorite day of many people! Definitely do not miss Caliterra's wine tasting event. This event will revolve around Antinori wines from Tuscany and tasty finger foods to enhance the wine. I went to the last wine tasting at Caliterra and found the staff to be both friendly and knowledgeable...and the wine and food pairings were right on target!

Saturday provides countless ways for you to give back to the community. All around Atlanta, Hands on Atlanta events will be taking place. I will be at the Central Atlanta Library helping out to sort books...please choose one of the projects and meet us in Centennial Olympic Park afterwards for the Appreciation Party. At 5pm, walk on over to Philips Arena to see the Thrashers play the Carolina Hurricanes in a pre-season game.

On Sunday head over to the Georgia Dome to cheer for our Falcons as they take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Go Falcons!

For happenings outside of the downtownATL area, "Atlanta Illustrated" is your ticket. Highlights this week include...The Friday Frenzy at Oh...Maria!, The Oktoberfest Bus Trip to Helen on Saturday, and the High Museum's Young Career's Social on Sunday.

Hope to see y’all real soon

First Thursdays Art Walk @ Downtown Atlanta
THU OCT 3 5-9p

The daddy of all art walks, the First Thursdays Arts Walk takes place - you guessed it - on the First Thursday of each month from 5-8 p.m. This fun and crowded social event is focused in Downtown Atlanta - Atlanta's premiere gallery district and spills into the nearby neighborhoods as well.  Many of the 14-plus arts venues (including galleries, museums, artist workspace and performance art venues) time their new exhibits for unveiling on First Thursdays, so there's always something new to see.
Over the past months First Thursdays has continued to grow with new programs and additional venues so that art lovers can view the arts, tour the historic districts of downtown and enjoy various discounts at downtown restaurants.
With its growth, First Thursdays has become more than just an arts walk.  It is an event where singles can meet, business people can unwind, and couples can enjoy the beauty of downtown’s landscape.  And all these are accomplished while taking in the culture that the arts offer.  To put it simply, no two trips could ever be the same. For more info call 404-658-1877.
