Hello Crew!

Wednesday, October 23, 2002

Halloween isn't here yet, but the parties sure are!!!

TONIGHT, join us at Kenny's Alley in Underground Atlanta for the VIP Reception as they kick off the first night of their haunted ghost tours. There will be guided tours into some of the scarier parts of Underground Atlanta that many people don't know exist. Our tour guides have told us that these scary places aren't the only thing they've uncovered, they've awakened some formidable fear factors...ghosts from Underground Atlanta's rich history who'll be making unexpected appearances throughout the night.

On Thursday, join the Downtowners for their October happy hour at the City Grille! There will be plenty of drinks, food, and fun!

On Friday, there are two fun options...if you would like to go the traditional route and dress up in a costume and maybe even win a costume contest, you definitely need to go to the Hard Rock Cafe. If you think that you'd like to try something new, why not attend the Square Hatter's 1st Annual Masquerade Ball? This will be a classy party mixed with a sensation of mystery (since you will be hidden behind your mask). Get your tickets now because they will be more expensive at the door.

The parties continue on Saturday with two interesting options. The Wednesday Night Drinking Club's Halloween Party will be held at The Mansion. Grab a banana because if you dress up like a monkey, you will get in the door at a discounted rate. Over at the Park Pavillion, Spiral Entertainment has done it once again...SPIRALWEEN! Tickets are almost sold out and they will not be selling any at the door so make sure you reserve your space now!

Have a wonderful weekend and BE SAFE!!!

For happenings outside of the downtownATL area, "Atlanta Illustrated" is your ticket. Highlights this week include ASO and Bravo!'s Overture Ball Rooftop Party @ Commune on Wednesday, Hands on Atlanta SWAP Meet & Salsa Dance Show @ Riviera on Thursday, and
Greenwood Ent. & Miller Lite's 6th Annual Halloween Bash in Va Highlands on Friday.
Hope to see y’all real soon

Opening Night: The Flying Dutchman @ The Fox

A mysterious Dutchman is condemned to sail the seas through eternity, in search of a mate who will be faithful unto death. A young woman is obsessed with a portrait of a man she has never met, and a love she has dreamt of all her life.
The Atlanta Opera makes its first foray into the genius of Richard Wagner with The Flying Dutchman, one of the most accessible of the composer's works. Featuring a powerful and richly orchestrated score, laden with evocative leitmotifs, Wagner's lyrical and passionate drama explores the inner turmoil of two outsiders predestined for one another...whether in life or death.
