UNDERGROUND ATLANTA IS SEEING GREEN THIS ST. PATRICK'S DAY!
St. Patrick's Day Festivities Include: Musical Entertainment, Food & More
WHEN: Wednesday, March 17th
TIME: 11:30 am-1:30 pm
COST: Free Entertainment Plus Special Deals At Participating Restaurants
Looking for a more exciting way to spend your lunch break this St. Patrick's Day? Put on something green and head out to Underground Atlanta on Wednesday, March 17th for great lunch specials and spirited Irish-themed entertainment. From 11:30am - 1:30pm enjoy the sounds of traditional Irish folk band, Shanveen, as well as the Underground Atlanta Barbershop Quartet. Gentlemen, spice up your suits as the lovely ladies of the Underground Atlanta management staff distribute green carnations to the first 500 lucky men who come to
Underground Atlanta (while supplies last) beginning at 11:30am.
Then bring your appetite and head over to one of many restaurants that Underground has to offer for authentic Irish meals and spectacular deals on food and beverages. For a hearty and authentic Irish meal, be sure
to stop by Irish Bread. Offering browned beef with mushrooms and carrots topped with creamy, toasted mashed potatoes, Irish Bread's Shepherd's Pie goes great with a side salad. Or try their Corn Beef and Cabbage, which features heaps of buttery, wedged baby potatoes served with corn beef on mounds of steamed cabbage served with toast. Finish it off with the perfect after dinner drink, an Irish coffee and perhaps a fried Mars bar!
If you're in the mood to wash your hardy meal down with a few spirits, Mick's will be offering drink specials at their upstairs bar throughout the day. For only $1.82 patrons can enjoy beer, wine and other beverages including top shelf liquor with only a $.91 up-charge. The only catch is that patrons MUST be wearing something green to receive these discounts! Jamaica, Jamaica will also be offering its signature drink, the Bob Marley, which contains five shots of green, yellow and red liquor, as well as its famous ox tails and jerk chicken. Next, fix that sweet tooth by hopping over to Johnny Rocket's for a mouth-watering, thick and creamy green vanilla Shamrock Shake! Whatever you're in the mood for this St. Patrick's Day, Underground invites you and all your friends to put a little zest in your step by stopping in for good eats, treats and festivities!

Mark Salerno @ Eyedrum

Yoko Ono wrote "Mark Salerno's Method is an inspired work which will inspire many." And Poet C.D. Wright had this to say about it: "If these pieces/glimpses/points in review could be molded into popular songs (happily they resist) I'd buy every cd. Method is a spoken nightscape, a starry, commiserating agent between Bronk and Creeley, a dry-eyed testimonial of ambivalent standing between our incurable existential awareness and bottomless communal longing. Salerno puts a clearheaded list of key words in circulation and returns to us a plenary of mostly single-sentence poems, a cavalcade of impeccably broken lines, not forgetting the invisible crack in everything. What little caviling goes on is directed at the poet acaviling. He is, in all modesty and honesty, "just doing his job" — insuring that what we really think, and what we actually say, is a tight fit." Salerno's new book is called So One Could Have. From 1993 to 1999, he editedArshile, one of the most innovative and well-recognized literary magazines ever to come out of Los Angeles. In addition to Mark Salerno, members of the APG and perhaps other special guests will be reading or performing their work.

CRUSH Party @ The Mark

This is your LAST chance to let somebody know that you have a CRUSH on them.  Are you ready to make your move?
It could be somebody you already know, or someone you've just been dying to meet...but haven't had the GUTS! Maybe it's somebody you work with, a waiter at your favorite eatery, the girl who works at Starbucks in Midtown, or even a close friend... who's your CRUSH?
Just e-mail us the name and e-mail address of that special somebody that you have a crush on, or even someone you think is just plain HOT . Don't know their name? Tell us where they work and give us a description...or give us as much information as you can ... we'll do all the leg work.
We will find that person for you and anonymously invite them to the party on your behalf. Your CRUSH will receive an e-mail telling them that somebody has their eye on them, and a personal formal invitation to THE MARK on Saturday, March 20th.
We will have their name on the guest list and the drinks are on us! Maybe you'll just stare at your hottie all night, or maybe you'll bump into them on the pulsating dancefloor, but the complimentary open bar from 9-11 should be just what you need to lose your inhibitions and step up to the plate!
The Mark will provide the atmosphere, the drinks, the DJ, and your CRUSH... the rest is up to you...  Send your CRUSH info to jeannine@themarkatlanta.com . Don't worry, your secret is safe with us. We will not share your info with anybody or disclose your identity, you will remain anonymous. We will let you know if your CRUSH
declines their invitation, or is already spoken for. This party is for entertainment purposes only. We do not accept any liability.
