Sample American Cheeses, California Wines @ City Grill 8:30p

City Grill’s Wine on Wednesday tasting will feature American cheeses and wines from the Edna Valley Vineyard in California. Rick Howe from Quality Wine & Spirits in Atlanta will provide commentary on the Edna Valley Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Syrah wines that will be served. The Edna Valley Vineyard, located near San Luis Obispo, CA, has a "minimalist" approach that combines gentle handling of the grapes, the use of imported French oak barrels for fermentation and aging, and minimal pumping, fining and filtration in the winemaking process.
$19 per person, excluding tax and gratuity.

Yes, that is right…in Douglasville, Georgia! Although this event lands outside of the downtownATL area, we have included it for three reasons!
Reason #1: Max Lager’s (a downtown Atlanta establishment!) will be in the Member’s tent at Foxhall conducting a complimentary beer tasting on Saturday, April 19 from 12:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m.
Reason #2: Cavu (another downtown establishment!) will be a participant in Foxhall’s “Grilling in the Garden” cooking series. Executive Chef Michael Schorn will be preparing Grilled Prawns with Tequila Lime Butter Sauce at Foxhall on Saturday, April 19 at 1:30 pm in the Foxhall Flower Show area.

American Institute of Wine & Food Gala @ Hilton Atlanta 7p

The annual AIWF Gala will sparkle in the newly renovated Crystal Ballroom at the Hilton Atlanta on Monday, April 21, 2003. Guests will sample cuisine from Atlanta’s premier chefs and caterers and beers, wines and spirits from leading merchants at the gala presented by the American Institute of Wine & Food (AIWF) Atlanta Chapter.
There also will be cooking demonstrations, culinary and wine-related merchandise for sale, a silent auction, a live band, and dancing during the gala from 7 to 11 p.m. Cocktail attire is suggested. Proceeds will benefit the chapter’s culinary scholarship fund.
