The Mirror Project/Art Mondays @ Apache Cafe

*Video and photography find each other* **
*Atlanta*- The Mirror Project a 12-year-old social documentaryproject founded by Colombian-born Robero Arévalo in Boston, MA and recently relocated to the Digital Arts and Entertainment Laboratory at Georgia State University, is scheduled to screen *La Vision* its first Atlanta Production. In this new Mirror Project exploration,
Arévalo turns the camera on those accustomed to being behind it: Hadley Breckenridge, Fiona Buttigieg and Brittney Lundsford, three GSU photography students. "In La Vision, the observer becomes the observed," says Arévalo. "My obvious presence in this documentary calls the audience to remember that videos are as much about the maker as they are about their subject." A full circle has been drawn by the three subjects of the film as they turn their cameras onto Arévalo and document him with the medium they know best: Photography.
The resulting video and photographs can be seen at the Apache Cafe on Monday April 26th, 8pm where you will have the opportunity to witness this visual dialogue that demystifies the making of a documentary. A
discussion with the four visual artists about the use of documentary as a self reflection and social analysis will follow.
