SAT JUNE 7

Atlanta Film Festival @ Centennial Olympic Park 4p
This event is FREE to attend!
It's everybody's non-pollutionary, anti-institutionary, pro-confectionery factory of fun! The world is astounded when Willy Wonka (Gene Wilder) announces that five lucky people will be given a tour of his factory, be shown all the secrets of his amazing candy, and (for one lucky winner!) take home a lifetime supply of Wonka chocolate. Nobody wants the prize more than young Charlie (Peter Ostrum), but as his family is so poor that buying even one bar of chocolate is a treat, buying enough bars to find one of the five golden tickets seems very unlikely. But in movieland, magic can happen. Charlie, along with four somewhat odious other children, get the chance of a lifetime and a tour of the factory. Along the way, mild disasters befall each of the competitors, but can Charlie beat the odds and grab the brass ring?

TCM's special presentation of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory is free to the public. Festivities begin at 4pm, with costume contests, characters from the film and children's activities. In addition, the screening will be preceded by the following cartoon classics:

Salt Water Tabby (1947) - MGM Tom & Jerry
The Bear That Couldn't Sleep (1939) - MGM Barney Bear
Dumb-Hounded (1943) - MGM Droopy Dog
Screwball Squirrel (1944) - MGM Screwball Squirrel
I haven't Got a Hat - WB Porky Pig
Daffy Duck in Hollywood (1938) - WB Daffy Duck
Elmer's Candid Camera (1940) - WB Elmer Fudd
A Wild Hare (1941) - WB Bugs Bunny

Note that food and beverages will be available at the event; no outside alcohol allowed.
Sponsored by TCM, Boomerang, IMAGINE IT, & Comcast.
