Georgia Force vs. Colorado Crush in ArenaBowl XIX on NBC 3p
The National Conference Champion Georgia Force (click for photos from the game at Philips last week) face the American Conference Champion Colorado Crush on Sunday, June 12th at 3 p.m. ET in ArenaBowl XIX in Las Vegas. ArenaBowl XIX will be the first-ever neutral site championship game in the 19-year history of the AFL. This will be the first appearance by either team in the ArenaBowl and match the two top seeds from each Conference. The Force and Crush have only played once before, when Georgia defeated Colorado 44-40 in the Crush’s first game in franchise history back in 2003.

NBC Sports will broadcast live coverage of the game. Tom Hammond (play-by-play), Pat Haden (analyst), Lewis Johnson (reporter) and Marty Snider (reporter) will call the action. Al Trautwig hosts the AFL on NBC studio show from Las Vegas, joined by analysts Glenn Parker and Ray Bentley. The halftime show will feature a performance from recording artist Bryan Adams.

Georgia claimed the National Conference Championship with a 60-58 comeback victory over the Orlando Predators on June 4th in Philips Arena. While, Colorado clinched the American Conference Championship with a 49-43 overtime win over the Chicago Rush on June 5th. Former Force player Andy McCullough hauled in a 22-yard touchdown with 5:10 left in the extra session to lift Colorado to victory.
Led by 2005 AFL Coach of the Year Doug Plank, the Force may be making their first championship game appearance, but Plank is no stranger to the title game. As defensive coordinator for the Arizona Rattlers from 2002-2004, Plank is making his fourth consecutive trip to the ArenaBowl and still looks for his first victory. Only three players on Georgia’s active roster have ArenaBowl experience (Kevin Gaines, Orlando- 1998, Nelson Garner, Arizona 2003-2004 and Ricky Parker, Arizona 2002-2004).
