Gajamukha Educational Outreach Program @ GSU Speaker's Auditorium

Atlanta-Georgia State University's Rialto Center for the Performing Arts and Intercultural Relations are hosting an educational outreach program presenting the dancers of Gajamukha, which is free and open to all students, faculty, staff and the general public on Friday, November 5 at 10 AM in Speaker's Auditorium. Dr. Jayanthi Raman, principle
dancer and choreographer claimed cultural treasure, will lead the audience in a demonstration of music and dance sure to capture the soul.
Gajamukha is a unique "temple dance" from India that tells the ancient story of the elephant-headed Hindu deity Ganesha. The 12-member cast of dancers and musicians, illustrious cultural ambassadors of south India's rich classical history, will present episodes of the divine manifestations of Lord Ganesha in a full-length ballet based on texts dating back some 2,000 years that evening at the Rialto. This performance of "Gajamukha" is presented in partnership with The Gandhi Foundation of U.S.A. This educational event is in conjunction with the Gajamukha performance on Friday, November 5 at 8 PM at the Rialto Center for the Performing Arts.
