WED NOV 26
Anthony Hamilton @ The Cotton Club 9p
Anthony Hamilton has been humbly paying his dues for more than a decade and has made a lot of friends along the way. Born and raised in Charlotte, North Carolina, the Harlem resident discovered his talent while singing in his church choir at age 10. As a teenager, he honed his chops while making the rounds on the local nightclub and talent show circuit, performing alongside fellow Charlotte natives Horace Brown and members of Jodeci. "I outgrew that real quick, though," he recalls, adding, "I knew I had to leave Charlotte in order to make it in the music business." In 1993, Hamilton left Charlotte for New York City, where he signed with Andre Harrell's Uptown Records imprint, then the epicenter of New Jack Swing and the bourgeoning hip-hop-soul movement with an all-star roster that included Jodeci and Horace Brown, in addition to Heavy D, Mary J. Blige and Guy.

Henry V By William Shakespeare @ Shakespeare Tavern
Featuring Brik Berkes as King Henry V. Directed by Jeff Watkins
Our story concludes with one of the most patriotic and inspiring plays ever written. The Tavern becomes the “wooden O” as Prince Hal accepts his calling to the throne, becoming King Henry V. “O, for a Muse of fire!” After making a claim on the French throne, Henry leads his Englishmen into battle- a battle that looks to end the life of Henry, his men and England. In a rallying cry to end all rallying cries, on St. Crispin’s Day, Henry calls on his men to fight for “God, Harry, England, and St. George!” The Battle of Agincourt is decided as well as the hand in marriage of a French Princess to a certain English King.
