"A Holiday HAM-icide" @ Agatha's Mystery Dinner Theatre
Nita Hardy's hilarious spoof has us wanting to PIG OUT with her new show. The hammy actor in the annual holiday show "A Christmas Scare All" is mysteriously murdered by another holiday ham - of thehoney baked variety! The actor played Scrooge offstage as well as on, so everyone is a suspect.
"Holiday HAM-icide" is a hilarious look behind the scenes at a mystery dinner theatre where the show must go on, while hunting for the ham-handed killer! As always at Agatha's, the audience participates in the action in the comic murder mystery. Each night, the entire audience has a chance to die laughing between 5 courses of dinner including hor d'oeuvres, a choice of entree' and very cheap wine with the meal.

Raymond Loewy: Designs for a Consumer Culture @ Museum of Design

This engaging exhibition will celebrate the life's work of the father of American Industrial Design: Raymond Loewy. Audiences will travel through the evolution of Loewy's design career and at the same time experience the technological boom associated with mid-twentieth century America. From Loewy's early advertising illustrations, through his works in transportation design for household names such as Greyhound buses, United Airlines, and the Pennsylvania Railroad, to his famous household products including the Sears Coldspot refrigerator created during the post-war era, Loewy's ingenious skill for creating functional yet fabulous design shines through. Some objects in the exhibition will be drawn from the Smithsonian Institution collection.

New Year’s Eve Peach Drop at Underground Atlanta is going to be the most exciting ever! One of the hottest bands in the country and Georgia’s own Collective Soul will headline the southeast’s largest New Year’s Eve celebration. Collective Soul has become a popular fixture on Atlanta’s music scene including their recent participation in Atlantic Station’s opening night celebration.

Collective Soul has proven their success is not temporary and is well-known for their powerful and energetic live performances. The rock quintet is back on the music scene with Youth their first studio album since 2000’s Blender. One of the ultimate bands of the ‘90s, they are best known for their hit single “Shine”. During their seven year career, they have had 19 different singles reach the Billboard charts and recently performed two shows with the Atlanta Youth Symphony Orchestra that were recorded and will be released on DVD and CD in early 2006.

Southeastern Conference Champion University of Georgia Bulldogs will face West Virginia University, the champions of the Big East Conference in the 72nd Nokia Sugar Bowl Classic Jan. 2, 2006 at 8:30 p.m. in Atlanta’s Georgia Dome. The game was moved to the Georgia Dome after the Louisiana Superdome was heavily damaged by Hurricane Katrina.

Nokia Sugar Bowl president Mark C. Romig, APR made the announcement along with Georgia athletic director Damon Evans and West Virginia University athletic director Ed Pastilong. Formally accepting the invitations were the presidents of the two institutions, Dr. Michael F. Adams of Georgia and David C. Hardesty, Jr. of West Virginia. “The teams and fans from these two magnificent institutions will help produce a Sugar Bowl that will be historic in so many ways.” said Romig. “This year has been an extremely challenging one for all of us involved in staging the Nokia Sugar Bowl as we have temporarily moved our operations to Atlanta. While we look forward to our return to New Orleans, the country’s most interesting city, we are fortunate to be hosted by the great people in Atlanta. We will forever be grateful for the hospitality shown to us over the past several weeks and we look forward to offering a healthy portion of the same to the Georgia Bulldogs and the West Virginia Mountaineers.”
