FIRST Robotics Championship
@ Georgia Dome   Thursday April 21 - Saturday April 23
Months of preparation and regional competitions culminate April 21-23 at the FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) Championship.

For the first time, this year's event marks the culmination of three separate season-long robotics competitions: The FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC), FIRST LEGO League (FLL) World Festival and the FIRST Vex Challenge. All three competitions will take place in the Georgia Dome in Atlanta between April 21 and 23.

Created by Dean Kamen, the inventor of the Segway Human Transporter (HT), to inspire young people's interest and participation in science and technology. At FIRST, we want to show kids that it's more fun to design and build a video game than it is to play one, and the FIRST Championship is a spectacular example of that idea in action, said FIRST Founder Dean Kamen.
