5th, a free outdoor movie series, this summer at
Centergy Plaza, 75 5th Street in Midtown. The
movies begin at sunset (approximately 9:00 pm) and
will be held every Wednesday, rain or shine, through
July 27. Complimentary popcorn will be served and
limited seating provided.

The Great Decisions is the oldest and largest
grassroots world affairs educational program of its
kind. Participants receive an annual publication from
the Foreign Policy Association that serves as the
basic component of all Great Decisions programs. The
briefing book places the thematic or geographic
issues covered in historical context and provides
background, current policies and alternative policy
options.
Tonight's discussion is on Putin's Second Term - A Scorecard for Russia. Under Vladimir Putin, Russia has been shaping its image as a power in Europe and Asia. Putin, in turn, is reshaping Russia by centralizing authority within the federal government. Are Putin's reforms a step backward for Russian democracy? How will Russia overcome the real challenges of terrorism and a struggling economy? |
