downtownATL.com staff along with our friends at Top Dog Multimedia
and Interland continue to focus our efforts on updating the web site
and newsletter to be more user friendly and informative. While the
newsletter is under construction we welcome you to visit

each Wednesday.
Our Thoughts and Prayers go out to the victims of Hurricane

lavish sets, costumes and special effects ever to have been created for
the stage, Andrew Lloyd Webber's THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA directed by
Harold Prince traces the tragic love story of a beautiful opera singer and
a young composer shamed by his physical appearance into a shadowy
existence beneath the majestic Paris Opera House. Adapted from Gaston
Leroux's classic novel of mystery and suspense, this award-winning musical
has woven its magical spell over standing room audiences in more than 90
cities worldwide.

Tonight at 7:35 p.m. John Smoltz (13-6, 2.96) squares off against the
Washington National's Tony Armas (7-7, 4.53) to follow up yesterday's
double header which was split with a win going to each team (Braves 5-3,
then Nationals 4-3).

Atlanta Mayor Shirley
Franklin has made the shortlist for the title of "World Mayor 2005." More
than 550 Mayors from Asia, Africa, Europe and The Americas were initially
nominated for the 2005 World Mayor Award. The final short list for World
Mayor 2005 consists of 65 mayors from Europe, The Americas, Asia,
Australia and Africa. All 65 mayors on the short list are invited to
contribute a ‘manifesto’ describing steps taken to make their cities more
liveable.
The election of World Mayor 2005 is based equally upon the number of
nominations received by each mayor and on the quality and conviction of
supporting statements. Please show our Mayor your support by clicking on
