Its
the First Thursday of the month again in downtown ATLANTA and Turner's
got a great evening of art and the outdoors lined up for you! Turner
First Thursdays is the perfect way to welcome Atlanta's lovely
Summer weather. Stroll through a dozen galleries, artist work spaces and
performing art venues. Selected by Atlanta Magazine as the Best Art Crawl,
you should come see what you're missing. Gallery stops include the APEX
Museum, the High Museum or Art Folk Art and Photography Galleries, Atlanta
Luckie Street Studios and The GSU School of Art & Design Galleries.
On Monday night the 2004
Coca-Cola Summer Film Festival
kicks off with "Big Ain't Bad". The
time-honored tradition of the summer film festival at the Fox Theatre
is an experience not to be missed! Now recognized as the Coca-Cola Film
Festival, this is truly the best way to see the Fox as seen by those who
came on opening day in 1929. While the orchestra and dancers are long
gone, audiences can still experience the magic of the Fox's "Mighty
Mo" organ and the tradition of the sing-a-long that takes place before
each film. Each Film Festival features a combination of current and classic
films, truly something for every movie-goer. ORGAN MUSIC/RADIO PERSONALITIES/SING-A-LONG
begin about 40 minutes prior to film's scheduled start time.
Wondering what it might be like to live Downtown and avoid the
grind of morning commutes? Looking for innovative ideas for decorating
an ordinary living room? Trying to find creative ways to enjoy the spring
weather outside looking at art, grooving to music, or having fun with
your kids? Then MARK YOUR CALENDARS
for the 2004 Atlanta
Downtown Neighborhood Festival and Tour of Lofts! Next weekend - June
12 and 13, 2004 - The Atlanta Downtown
Neighborhood Association (ADNA) and Central
Atlanta Progress (CAP) are joining forces to co-produce a combined
event crafted from their individual past successes.
