The Penis Dialogues @ Blank Stage Theatre 8p/10:30p
The Cincinnati Hysterical Society presents the Atlanta premiere
of PENIS DIALOGUES by Adam Antler. It stars the Twin Cities
Pubic Theatre. This touring production takes place Saturday,
January 25 and February 1, 2003, at 8:00 and 10:30 each evening,
at Blank Stage Studios, 107 Luckie, Atlanta.
The premise behind PENIS DIALOGUES is that a group Of envious
male actors are unable to audition for VAGINA MONOLOGUES and
decide to throw together their own show reflecting the far
more shallow male view. The result is a revue of hilarious
comedy sketches, improv, and songs performed by the Atlanta
Pubic Theatre. It satirizes topics such as men, women, theatre
sexuality, censorship, comedy, politics, political correctness,
and the meaning of life.
While VAGINA MONOLOGUES is both funny and poignant, PENIS
DIALOGUES is strictly for laughs. It offers cheap tickets
and cheap laughs. This show is recommended for immature audiences.
PENIS DIALOGUES had its debut in January with sold-out houses
and standing ovations at Cincinnati's Aronoff Center for the
Arts. It was evident to the Hysterical Society that the show's
popularity warranted a tour. It has appeared in Indianapolis,
Pittsburgh, Lexington, Toronto, and other cities where VAGINA
MONOLOGUES has played. Many VAGINA MONOLOGUES patrons attend
the complementary show.
